I really liked this article. Jemele did a great job at just painting the facts. She didn't bag on Kitna for claiming to be a Christian, but rather presented the change he has brought to the Lions without comment. I appreciate that she let the reader make the decision.

She referenced a team Bible study at Kitna's house on Monday. What I want to know is: What does he do if the Lions are on Monday Night Football? Perhaps he prayed against the Lions getting scheduled on Monday this year. Although I'm not sure that it would require any prayer. After all, they only put 'good' teams on MNF, right? (except for the 0-12 Dolphins, the 3-9 Niners, 4-8 Baltimore twice... OH Never Mind.)

But do they watch Monday Night Football? Are they really that uninterested in the rest of the league that they can study the Bible through a game? I'll be honest, I would struggle with that one. I guess that would only increase my belief that he really is God's quarterback. Coming back after a concussion? Anyone can do that. Skipping a football game for a Bible study? Now that shows some true mettle.

And about Kitna being called "God's Quarterback", I'm not so sure. Most prophets in the Old Testament have at least had some hair on their head. (You've seen the pictures too!) Maybe if he grew a full Moses-beard to counteract the bald head I would believe it. I guess he could be taking after "Baldy" Elisha, but I hope not. Elisha was a bit sensitive about his bald head.

In truth, God is proud to call anyone his own, even a balding quarterback.
